An efficient exploration model for the most challenging energy scenarios

AMMAT GLOBAL RESOURCES

We are an independent hydrocarbons producer: our operations take place in the upstream sector, where we work both offshore and onshore

We are engaged in the complete field lifecycle, from exploration and production to decommissioning. At the same time, we work closely with countries and local institutions to boost a long-term economic growth and social development. In our program for developing and enhancing the local resources, technical know-how acquired over time by our People, along with an innovative and reactive model, turns out to be a fundamental pillar to create energy by optimizing the environmental impact.

UPSTREAM STAGES

Integrated value chain for faster time to market

Our journey embraces all of the upstream stages of the natural gas and oil production chain: from obtaining exploitation rights to exploration and production, including appraisal, development and decommissioning of the field.

Exploration

Prospecting Deposits

This stage aims to identify subsurface pools of hydrocarbons. Once land rights are secured, we start with exploration activities.

  • Land acquisition
  • Exploration drilling
  • Data acquisition
  • Geological Geophysical studies

Appraisal

Boundaries Identification

After proving the existence of what is potentially a significant pool of hydrocarbons, the appraisal phase takes place to determine the boundaries to which the field extends to.

  • Additional data acquisition
  • Appraisal drilling
  • Define OOIP, OGIP, EUR
  • Perform Initial FDP

Development

Full Scale Operations

Once the field boundaries are known, and a more accurate reservoir potential is drawn, the development stage takes place to exploit the hydrocarbons resources.

  • Detailed FDP
  • Development drilling
  • Infield infrastructure
  • Environmental assessments

Production

Cost Recovery

Field size, type of hydrocarbon, and required infrastructure defines the complexity and the duration of the production phase. In this phase, extracted hydrocarbons are being sold to market and cost recovery mode kicks off.

  • Additional development wells
  • Injector wells
  • Workover and well maintenance
  • EOR

Decommissioning

Non-commercial production

When production reaches a point where it is no more cost-effective, the field enters a final stage called abandonment, also known as decommissioning.

  • Plug and Abandonment
  • Dismantlement of production facilities
  • Site restoration

SUSTAINABLE MODE

Taking on the circularity in the upstream stages

Encouraged by the concept of the circular economy, we regard each asset as precious and every resource as something to be nurtured. Hydrocarbons can continue to play an important role during the transition towards net-zero, as long as a new circular model development are incentivised also in the upstream stages. For example, an offshore platform from Africa can be recovered and reused in the Americas: this model provides a new sustainable journey for reducing climate-changing emissions.

#AMMATPEOPLE

Our People work with passion and responsibility in achieving extraordinary projects

Ammat is above all the high-level competence of women and men with more than 20 years of work experience in Exploration & Production. Our story comes directly from passion and responsibility of our People, which drive our growth: each person is central for us to go further and faster in the new energy era, taking advantage of the significant opportunities that arise along the way.

SUSTAINABLE MODE

Health is at the heart of our concerns

The management of upstream hydrocarbon operations is as much of a necessity from a safety point as from an environmental perspective, and risk management for the two often overlaps. Just for this reason, as regards HSE policies we adopt a holistic approach to ensure that risk is accounted for at multiple organisational levels, and moreover that it is embedded within a functioning and continuously improving risk management culture. Another important aspect for us is People involvement, necessary to gain deeper organisational understanding and acceptance of hazards and risks. Human factors determine in large part the way in which operations are conducted offshore at an individual task level, and hence we have gone some way towards developing guidance for improvement in this area, including training for emergency situations and a project team helping to ensure industrial asset integrity globally.

LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

A pillar of our business model

As a global company, we are keenly aware of the challenges facing the world today. In agreement with the 17 SDGs of the UN, from our first entry into a country or new territory to the obtaining exploitation rights, we organize a powerful decision-making approach contributing to the development of host countries. First, we develop a large-scale energy access model and then we aim to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for the areas in which we operate. More specifically, local development projects realized by Ammat deal with several sectors of intervention: from decent work and economic growth to quality education, including no poverty actions.
